"Stop stressing - it's bad for the baby!"

Stop stressing? You might as well suggest that I don't breath for the next 5 months.

"Trust God, everything's gonna be ok"
Well, that's an assumption. What's your definition of ok? God won't give me more than I can handle, but I can handle a WHOLE LOT MORE than I want to have to.

Found this and love it:
"Some people feel guilty about their anxieties and regard them as a defect of faith but they are afflictions, not sins. Like all afflictions, they are, if we can so take them, our share in the passion of Christ" C.S. Lewis

Day by day isn't it? Love & support to you...

There is no easy answer to this. Just time and hopefully some growing peace for you.

I will add some words from Mother Teressa and this I know has been your past (but hopefully not your future) experience. This captures the tension to which you refer

"I know God won't give me anything I can't handle;I just wish he didn't trust me so much"

Take care

What amazes me is that people (even me!) always feel the need to *say something* when really to stay silent (empathise / listen / suppor) is a better option.

Ja, I have my own view on that scripture...the one that God wont give me more than I can handle...read in context I think that refers to TEMPTATION not life crises.

But I am not going to get into a theological debate. My stance on life is that because of Him I can face this life, in all its brokenness AND joy. :-)

and I agree with Simply Mel - that verse does refer to temptation not life.

LOVE that quote!! Caz, I have dealt with anxiety for several years now and those words are wonderful. Through my pregnancy it has been hard not to be anxious at times. Stay strong.

I think you have permission to punch anyone who tells you to stop stressing. Verbally if you don't wanna get physical :)

If only it was that simple.

I hope you can manage to relax some of the time, but if you can't, just get other people to take care of the stuff you can let go of. Don't be a control freak :)

Ello my precious fwendie.....mostly when people tell me not to stress it makes me more agrivated and I wanna bitch slap em right there and then and so with them saying that actually made my blood pressure rise, in anycase,to a dangerous level, that them even saying that would not be deemed very helpful at all so the betta thing to say is ......nutting at all and just to give you a big squeezie or sum sign to say....buddy Im with you in this thru the ruff and the good days...instead of pointing out the obvious thing..... we all like .....struggle with..........stress....ek se.

Anyway love you lots and lots

Strongs. You know you're going to do the opposite of whatever people tell you to do!

You wouldn't be normal if you didn't worry. God can use even our stress to draw us nearer to Him.
